The media personality, who has appeared on the Channel 4 hit show since 2013, shared the surprising update onto Instagram on Saturday, following almost a year away from the social platform.

In a playful snap, Essex native George, 36, pulled an animated facial expression as he sported Morrisons uniform and his name tag ahead of his night shift.

‘Everyone’s gotta do their bit… ‘, the reality TV star captioned his image as he joined thousands of staff working during the global crisis.

COVID-19 was classified a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO) last month, and has claimed 4,313 lives in the UK alone.

Last week, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered the immediate closure of all non-essential shops and threatened people with fines or even arrest if they do not ‘stay at home’.

The shutdown will last for a minimum of three weeks and the UK’s new state of emergency is unprecedented in modern history.

The TV star even took part in the 2014 edition Celebrity Big Brother, finishing in fourth place.

Late last year, George was jailed for three months for drink driving after petrol station staff smelled alcohol on his breath when he stepped out to buy fuel.

He admitted to drink driving at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court and was jailed due to serving a community punishment following a drunken bust up with his ex-girlfriend in 2018. George was also banned from driving for five years.
