This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby, 39, and Phillip Schofield, 57, are among the This Morning cast who are reportedly worried about the coronavirus after the show’s boss Martin Frizell told them he is self-isolating. His annoucement comes after his wife Fiona Phillips told fans she has tested positive for the virus.
A source told The Sun: “Martin’s been on set and in meetings all week with everyone – there’s no-one he hasn’t been in contact with.
“There’s a real worry that it could spread through everyone and the show won’t be able to go on.”
An ITV spokeswoman told the publication Martin will self-isolate for 14 days in like with the government’s guidelines.
She said: “In line with the Public Health England and World Health Organisation guidelines Martin is isolating for 14 days as a member of his family has displayed mild symptoms which are unconfirmed.
“This is a precautionary measure and Martin has no symptoms himself.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for comment.
Earlier this week, Martin’s wife Fiona Phillips told fans she has the virus and reassured fans not to worry.
She wrote: “I am in bed with #coronvirusuk It’s not a very pleasant bedfellow, but nothing more than sore throat, dry cough, headache & tiredness. As long as it stays that way….DON’T panic!”
Holly and Phil have continued to present the live show as normal in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
The television duo have been keeping their fans up to date with the latest news on a daily basis.
Earlier this week, Phil encouraged viewers not to believe information from unreliable sources.
