Lucy Alexander sympathises with Eamonn Holmes over ‘demons’ as he issues warning to fans

Many Britons have been struggling to sleep during the coronavirus pandemic and this was no different for 60-year-old Eamonn Holmes in the early hours of this morning.

The This Morning host took to Twitter at 5.30am today to warn them about sleep demons and asked if anyone else has been having nightmares.

In view of his one million followers, he wrote: “Beware of Sleep …. that’s where the Demons lurk.

“A few visited me last night. Anyone else have too many Nightmares?”

Lucy Alexander, 50, responded to the post, telling Eamonn she had also been finding it difficult to sleep.

Back in March, #Cantsleep was a popular trend on Twitter as many shared their concerns.

Studies have since revealed why Britons may be finding it hard to sleep in recent weeks, with many putting it down to a change in circumstances in lockdown.

Professor Bobby Duffy of King’s College London said: “As with so much about Covid-19, the crisis is affecting people very differently depending on their circumstances, and that includes the most fundamental aspects of life, such as sleep.”

Professor Colin Espie also told Sky News: “I’ve definitely noted more people having issues with sleep.

“There’s lots of talk about staying well in the day by staying home and looking after yourself, but it’s also important to stay well during the night time.”

Elsewhere, Lucy returned to work earlier this month and took to Twitter to share her excitement.

She tweeted: “Went back to work today. God it felt good. West end of London quiet but slowly you can see it emerging… got excited.. did a little dance.”

It is believed Lucy was filming for a new series of The Customer Is Always Right.

Homes Under The Hammer continues today at 10.45am on BBC One.
